Granite Reef Dam (Ariz.) -- Pictorial works

These photographs include snapshots of the Zetetic Club camping and swimming at Granite Reef Dam and in costume for a pageant on the Tempe Normal School campus. Also included is a snapshot portrait of A. J. Matthews.

This collection houses seventeen photographs, primarily silver gelatin, showing Watson Pickrell and his family, the Granite Reef Dam and gatehouse, a concrete bridge over the Salt River in South Phoenix, and a billboard advertising the Palmcroft Addition in Phoenix.

The Albert J. Ross Photographs include negatives, copies of original negative envelopes, and, for a very limited number of images, prints depicting scenes of everyday life in Arizona, Texas, Ohio, and Tennessee. A small number of postcards are included as well. These materials date from 1907 to 1966 with the bulk of images falling in the range of 1907 to around 1930.
