Black Collections
Founded in 2017, our Black Collections repository includes materials that document Arizona’s Black History. These collections are developed with community input and in collaboration with curators across ASU’s special collections.
Chicano/a Research Collection
Established in 1970, the Chicano/a Research Collection collects materials about Mexican American history in Arizona and the Southwest. Our collection includes manuscripts, photographs, books, newspapers, and ephemera.
Design and the Arts Special Collections
Containing textual records, architectural drawings, presentation boards, project files, this collection emphasizes desert-sensitive design and the development and evolution of midcentury and modern architecture in the Southwest.
Greater Arizona Collection
The Greater Arizona Collection includes a variety of primary and secondary sources that document the diverse cultural and political history of the region. Greater Arizona Collection subjects reflect the wide range of materials collected and people represented, including politics, mining and labor history, water and land management, and organizational histories. These collections can include photographs, audio-visual materials, subject files, minutes of meetings, scrapbooks, and other related items.
Labriola National American Indian Data Center
The Labriola National American Indian Data Center holds about 40 distinct archival collections that document indigenous history in the Southwest.
Latin Americana Collection
The Latin Americana Collection supports the teaching, curriculum and research of ASU faculty and students studying the literature, history, culture, art, social sciences, indigenous history and languages of Latin America, Spain and Portugal.
Rare Books and Manuscripts
Our rare book and manuscript holdings are strong in early modern herbals, performing arts collections, film and television collections, pop-up and moveable-parts books, contemporary artists' books, and Young Adult literature.
Theatre for Youth and Community
The Theatre for Youth and Community (TFYC) collection includes over 2,600 linear feet of archival papers, over 3,000 books, 300 journal titles and over 400 audiovisual media from the 16th century to present day.

Visual Literacy Collection
Founded in the late 1960’s, our visual literacy collection includes researchers, educators, and creators interested in how learners make meaning from what they see and their visual environment. Examples include interpreting and teaching with photographs, works of art, television, and internet imagery.
