Water resources development -- Arizona

The collection consists of 22 boxes of correspondence, documents, articles, publications, diaries, and newspaper clippings documenting the Colorado River Controversy, the Gila River Irrigation District, the San Carlos Irrigation District, the Central Arizona Project (CAP), politics, and Thomas Maddock's engineering career.

This collection houses research files, articles, reports, publications, notebooks, and other materials documenting Jack Pfister's research on Arizona history (including politics, famous persons, water resource development, Mormon pioneers, and Arizona statehood) and work with minority student recruitment and retention at Arizona State University.

The Howard Pyle Collection contains correspondence, memoranda, minutes, diaries, scrapbooks, notebooks, printed matter, and artifacts. Although the collection dates from 1883 to 1987, the bulk of the material is derived from Pyle's political, professional, and personal activities from 1935 to 1987. The collection has been divided into two series.

The Howard J. Smith Collection consists of correspondence, press releases and newsclippings concerning federal legislation of Colorado River water rights and the related lobbying activities of the Central Arizona Project Association (CAPA) from 1946-1954.

This collection houses speeches, correspondence (professional and personal), photos, news clippings, programs, brochures and booklets, meeting minutes, agendas, stock certificates, and blueprints documenting Frank L. Snell's personal and professional activities. The majority of the materials show Snell's relationships with various organizations.
