Arizona -- Pictorial works

The Forrest E. Doucette Photographs include personal photographs, clippings of Doucette's newspaper articles, and associated ephemera documenting Doucette's recovery from a World War I mustard gas injury and his career as a journalist in Arizona.

The Frank Hoy Photograph Collection contains images documenting Arizona that Hoy took between 1979 and 1995. Image formats include slides, prints, negatives, and digital. The collection has been organized in seventeen series arranged by theme and format.

This collection houses commercial photographs showing city scenes, streets, architectural views and building construction, commercial activities, water development projects (including dams and canals), landscapes, and agriculture in and around Phoenix, Arizona.

This collection houses a variety of color photographs taken by Herb and Dot McLaughlin between 1940 and 1986. The majority of these images are positive transparencies ranging in size from 2" x 2" to 8" x 10"; some color prints are also included. Most of the photographs were taken in Arizona, but Alaska, Montana, Utah, Colorado, and Mexico are also represented prominently.

The Ryder Ridgway Collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, research files, printed matter, and family papers showing Graham County and Mormon history from 1799 to 1980.

The Ryder Ridgway Photograph Collection contains 800 photographs, lantern slides, oversized images, and panoramas. The majority of the images show the economic and social development of Southeastern Arizona (primarily the Thatcher and Safford areas in Graham County, but also including Bisbee, Morenci, Clifton, and Superior).

The Lisle Chandler Updike Photographs, 1901-1976, consist of gelatin silver photographs (some hand colored), acetate and nitrate negatives, post cards, a 1914 picture calendar, miscellaneous photographic equipment, and two family albums that contain photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, and exhibition announcements.

The Francis J. Uplegger photographs consist of snapshots, commercial photographs, and postcards collected by the family as mementos of the family and friends, their life as Lutheran missionaries on the San Carlos Indian Reservation, the Apache Indian community they served, and their vacations.
