Biographical Note
Thomas Campbell was born in New York in May of 1842. He married Emma Herrick (1843-) and the couple had six children, of whom four survived to adulthood: Archie Earl (1866-1942), Homer (1872-1944), Mitchell Hugh (1875-1926), and Russell Herrick (1883-1943). The family settled in the Prescott area, where Thomas Campbell worked as a miner, between 1875 and 1879.
Archie Campbell married Levina McNary and the couple had at least four children: Pearl (1892-1893), Archie Earl (1894-1937), Ileese (Campbell) Alexander (1896-1979), and Ivy (1899-). Mitchell Campbell married Mary Jane Calkins (1881-1966) and the couple had four children: Helen (Campbell) Vensel (1896-1993), Hester Jewell (1898-1985), Gail (Campbell) Olea (1900-1988), and Hazel Verdeen (Campbell) Tipton (1903-1927). The Mosiers are related to this branch of the family: Helena (Campbell) Vensel's husband, George Wayne Vensel, was the son of William James and Alice (Mosier) Vensel. Homer Campbell married Mary Graney (1878-ca. 1928) and the couple had one surviving son, Thomas J. Russell Campbell married Margaret Sears and the couple had three children: Margaret Lucile (Campbell) Fetz (1911-), Russell Sears (1913-1997), and Thomas H. (1915-).
