This collection houses manuscript materials, ephemera, photographs, and audio-visual materials documenting Dorothy V. Gilbert's involvement with the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, the Save Our Mountains Committee, the Phoenix Mountains Preservation Council (PMPC), the Phoenix Forward Committee, the Department of Public Instruction, numerous equestrian activities, city parks, state trails, and various publications. Among these materials are typewritten manuscripts of articles written for the Phoenix Gazette (1963-1980), maps, land lease agreements, signed petitions, opinion polls, planning and zoning studies, correspondence, meeting minutes, election materials, publications, postcards, newsletters, scrapbooks of newsclippings, and photographs.

This collection has not been processed in full and can be viewed only by appointment. Contact Archives and Special Collections for more information.
