Clifton (Ariz.)

This artificial collection contains 45 sterographs, 8 boudoir, 4 cabinet, 3 cartes-de-visite, and 8 other photographic prints dating from the nineteenth century. Among the subjects depicted are the Grand Canyon, the Petrified Forest, and other scenic landscapes; Native Americans, pueblos, and ruins; buildings and street scenes in Tucson, Prescott, and other cities; and mining and mining communities.

This artificial collection houses tourist and souvenir views of towns and sites around Arizona, including many mining towns and resorts. Most of the images show street scenes, skylines, or principal buildings. Many of the photographs were made by Frasher's Foto.

This collection documents the lives of Mexican and Mexican-American copper miners in the Clifton-Morenci area who worked in the Phelps Dodge Copper Mine and their efforts to form a union between 1900 and 1950.

The Ryder Ridgway Photograph Collection contains 800 photographs, lantern slides, oversized images, and panoramas. The majority of the images show the economic and social development of Southeastern Arizona (primarily the Thatcher and Safford areas in Graham County, but also including Bisbee, Morenci, Clifton, and Superior).
