Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of five large (24 inches by 21 inches) scrapbook volumes containing newspaper and magazine clippings; printed programs of events, lecture series, and exhibitions; announcements; posters; faculty profiles; design competition notices; academic program bulletins; ASU President's Reports; and obituaries. The items appeared in various publications including ASU Insight, State Press, ASU Computing News, ASU Research, Arizona Statesman, Arizona Republic, Phoenix Gazette, Tribune Newspapers, Scottsdale Progress, New Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, Los Angeles Times, Phoenix Home and Garden, Tempe Magazine, Progressive Architecture, Business Journal, Magazine of International Design, Landscape Architecture, and American Society of Interior Design Reports. The clippings in the scrapbooks do not display any real chronological arrangement. Some clippings are unidentified regarding source and undated.

Historical Note
Beginning in autumn 1986, Development Officer Laurel Kimball and others within the ASU College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) began collecting clippings about the College from newspapers, journals, and various printed sources. Organized in scrapbooks, these materials were displayed in the College's Gallery of Design. The scrapbooks, which familiarize prospective students, parents, and other visitors with the activities and programs of CAED, outline the history of the College.

Provenance
The scrapbooks in the collection were assembled and organized by the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. After being exhibited in the College's Gallery of Design, the volumes were transferred to what was then the Architecture and Environmental Design Library, now the Design Library.
