Scope and Content Note
The North American Indigenous Languages Collection contains graduate theses and working papers regarding linguistic analysis of a variety of North American Indigenous languages originating in Mexico and the United States including Western Apache, Papago, Uto-Aztecan, Ixil, Copala Trique, and Zuni. The collection also includes graduate theses and a personal letter on comparative analysis of reflexives and morphology in North American Indigenous languages. Dates range from 1973 to 2001.
Authors include Leonard Faltz (Arizona State University), Barbara Hollenbach (University of Arizona Summer Institute of Linguistics), Willem De Reuse (University of Arizona), Madeleine Methiot (State University of New York at Buffalo), Ronald Langacker (University of California, San Diego), Ava Berinstein, Glenn Ayres, Anderson (first name unknown), Tayana Slobodchikoff (Arizona State University), and Jerold A. Edmonson (Technical University Berlin). Variations of these working papers and theses have subsequently been published, including those by De Reuse, Hollenbach, Methiot, Langacker, Ayres, and Berinstein.
