Arizona Educational Media Association Collection

The Arizona Educational Media Association Collection is divided into six series: Series I: Board of Directors, Series II: Conferences, Series III: Membership, Series IV: Newsletters, Series V: Photographs, and Series VI: Related Organizations. Oversized materials can be found in box ten.

The Board of Directors series is divided into three sub-series: Correspondence, Official Business, and Treasurer. The Correspondence sub-series consists of the Arizona Educational Media Association leadership's internal and external communications dating from 1948 to 1985. The correspondence sub-series is arranged chronologically. The Official Business sub-series is comprised of the organization's meeting minutes and official documents. A scrapbook belonging to this sub-series can be found in box ten. Otherwise, materials in this sub-series are arranged alphabetically by folder title. The third sub-series, Treasurer, contains projected budgets, receipts, financial statements, and requests for payment. Materials are arranged alphabetically by folder title. This series extensively documents the association's purpose, inner workings, and scope.

The Conferences series consists of conference programs, as well as various handouts and materials given out at conferences, symposiums, and workshops dating back to the 1950 AAAVEd Conference. Also included is correspondence relating to conferences, conference attendance, and costs associated with the conferences. Two scrapbooks belonging to this series can be found in box ten. Otherwise, materials are arranged alphabetically by folder title.

The Membership series includes information on becoming a member, materials for members, membership information, and membership directories. Materials are arranged alphabetically by folder title.

The Photographs series contains a number of unidentified photographs from AEMA's and AAAVEd's various conferences and workshops. Also included are photographs of members and politicians who had an impact on audiovisual literacy and educational media.

The Newsletters series includes newsletters for members of AEMA and AAAVEd. It also includes publications on the studies of audiovisual education and educational media. Some of the publications included in this series are AEMA Media Update, AEMA Media, AEMA Update, Audiovisual Journal, and Alert. Materials are arranged alphabetically by the name of the newsletter.
