Series I: Biographical houses Amelio's curriculum vitae and a newspaper article discussing his professional endeavors and accomplishments. Series II: Instruction contains a syllabus for Amelio's Cinema Studies 12 class at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, Illinois. Series III: Newsletters includes copies of the The Chicago SES, published by the Chicago Screen Educators Society. Series IV: Research houses bibliographies, articles, and a report on film study in American schools.

Biographical Note
Ralph J. Amelio is currently a media consultant in Chicago. From 1961 through 1997, he taught film and humanities courses at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, IL and National Louis University in Evanston, IL. He also held the position of Liaison for the Screen Educators Society, the oldest education film group in the United States.
