Historical Note

Rain City Projects is a Seattle based, non-profit corporation that promotes new plays and professional playwrights in the Pacific Northwest through script publication, play readings and workshops, classes and seminars, and outreach. Rain City publishes scripts that were produced but not yet published by any commercial publishers. The target readers for these scripts are the audiences who have seen those plays onstage and prospective producers and publishers. These scripts are provided to the playwrights and are also for sale at the producing theatres nationwide and at The University Bookstore, the Elliot Bay Book Company, and The Old Actor's Books in Seattle, Washington. Rain City Project's structure is modeled after a similar project developed and run by New Dramatists in New York City.
