Biographical Note

Wendy Netzky-Jolly, psychotherapist, theatre for youth director, teacher, author and actress, received a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Arizona. Her thesis titled Pertinent Consumer Issues in Choosing a Counseling Professional was published in The Journal of Counseling Psychology.

From 1984 through 1989, she was a counselor in private practice: working with children, families, couples and individuals with personal problems; doing career counseling; and developing and leading support groups for children and families that focused on issues of divorce and family conflict.

As the daughter of Lester Netzky, professional theatre for youth director and author in Chicago and Tucson, she was exposed to theatre throughout her childhood and acted in her father's youth theatre, the Tom Thumb Players. From 1985 through 1987 Netzky-Jolly co-owned Tucson's Tom Thumb Players with her father.

She served as the director and owner of the Creative Expression Acting School for children from 1989 through 2004. This School offered classes in multiple venues throughout Scottsdale and Phoenix. Netzky-Jolly's responsibilities included: teaching classes in creative drama, playwriting and acting for children ages three through sixteen; writing original plays, scenes and curriculum for each age group; managing finances and marketing; preparing students for theatre auditions; presenting acting workshops for professional dancers; and teaching free workshops for blind and abused children. In collaboration with KPHO television productions, she directed and co-authored an original video production on the Creative Expression Acting School.

She also was the Coordinator/Director for Phoenix's Positive Force Players Teen Theater Troupe, which is supported by Planned Parenthood. Netzky-Jolly resides in Ashland, Oregon.
