Biographical Note

Maria Socorro Cora Cruz was born to Manuel Felix (1896-1948) and Maria Dolores (Borquez) Cruz (1901-1995) in Bisbee, Arizona on June 2, 1925. She was one of seven children, including Mary Carmen (Cruz) Zaragoza (1927-), Manuel Hector (1928-1997), Francisco (1929-1973), Maria Theresa (1931-1931), Anna Lydia (Cruz) Escobdeo (1933-2010), Margarita B. (1934-1935), and Maria Angeles (ca. 1937-). Cora Cruz married Reyes Zuñiga Mariscal (1922-2011) in 1947 and the couple had six children: Yvonne (Mariscal) Echeagaray (1949-), Norberto Reyes (1952-2010), Maria (Mariscal) Olguin (1953-), Jesus F. (1956-1978), Ron P. (1961-), and Jeri (sometimes spelled Geri). Cora Mariscal died in Phoenix, Arizona on December 28, 2015.
