Scope and Content Note
The Centro Adelante Campesino Records capture the organization's efforts to assist farmworkers and their families in need through charitable donations and awareness. This collection contains administrative records like by-laws, board minutes, agendas, director's reports, correspondence, and donations made to the organization. It also houses photographs, information about special programs, and ephemera.

Historical Note
Centro Adelante Campesino was established as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt corporation in 1978. It was born out of the farmworker struggle in Maricopa County, Arizona. The Centro, based in El Mirage, promoted human rights and social justice by providing special services, including a dental and health clinic, a food and clothing bank, and a daycare program. They also provided educational programs like English classes.

Richard Miranda, Josie Ojeda, and Francisca Montoya donated this material to the Chicano/a Research Collection in 2003 and 2004 (Accession #2003-02595, Accession #2004-03142, and Accession #2004-03741).

Materials previously processed as MM CHSM 302, MM CHSM 473, MM CHSM 476, MM CHSM 749, CM MSM 832, and ME CHI 02 were removed from the Ephemera and Small Manuscripts Collections and incorporated into this collection.
