Original Recordings
Scope and Content Note
The Latino Health Beliefs Project Records contain interviews and transcripts written in English and Spanish. In this course, students developed lists of health-related questions and interviewed at least three people. Participants were asked how they cope with illness, what is their knowledge of treatment, and their personal beliefs about illness. Students recorded and transcribed the interviews. The average interview length is 45 to 60 minutes. The original recordings were donated and some of the interviews were transcribed.

Access Restrictions
The Department of Archives and Special Collections has restricted access to the original recordings found in boxes 4-6. Some of the participants signed a release form and were given pseudonyms during the interview and some did not. In order to protect the privacy rights of all interviewees and to provide patrons with prompt and efficient access, researchers are required to read and complete an Access and Use Agreement form (available at http://lgdata.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/docs/55/1372537/LatinoHealthBeliefs_AccessUseAgreementFinal.pdf) before access is granted. Contact the Curator of the Chicano/a Research Collection for more information.
