This collection contains photographs, manuscript materials, and scrapbook pages documenting Segovia's time at Arizona State College and the organizations she was involved in, including the Women's Athletic Association, Los Conquistadores, and the Newman Catholic Club. The Eloisa Segovia Papers are organized in alphabetical order.

Biographical Note

Eloisa Moran Segovia was born on April 13, 1927 in Morenci, Arizona to Pedro and Sara (Moran) Segovia. After graduating from Morenci High, she went on to Arizona State College where she was very involved in campus organizations such as the Newman Catholic Club, Los Conquistadores, the Women's Athletic Association, and more. Segovia was one of the original Murphy's Girls, a group of women who studied under professor and coach Nina Murphy. Segovia majored in Physical Education and graduated from Arizona State College in 1949.

After college, Segovia went on to be an educator in the Tucson, Arizona and San Bernardino, California school districts. As a physical education teacher, she participated in and taught many sports and also instructed dance, including Ballet Folklorico. Segovia retired as a counselor from San Bernardino Valley College and moved back to Arizona. As an alumna, Segovia was active in Arizona State University sports. She was a booster club member and a season ticket holder for many sports.

Segovia passed away on August 27, 2019 in Tempe, Arizona.
