Historical Note
Arizona State University's Vice Provost for Research is the chief administrative officer tasked with managing the University's research programs and other sponsored activities. The Vice Provost leads development of policies and procedures designed to enhance the University's research mission while protecting its programs and interests. This officer oversees the Office of Sponsored Projects Fiscal Management, the Office of Research and Creative Activities, the Office of Technology Collaborations and Licensing, the Office of Radiation Safety, Research Publications, the Institutional Review Board, and the Animal Care Program in addition to administering in-house research grant programs and other research funds, representing the university to external funding agencies, and working to foster the development of research programs and cooperative research arrangements with organizations and agencies outside the university (https://www.asu.edu/aad/manuals/policyarchives/ACD/Mar2002/acd106.html).
