Historical Note

The Angle of Vision Project was funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. It was administered through Arizona State University's Department of Communication and supported a series of programs designed to engage the public in discussing fiction about the Western United States, including the works of Wallace Stegner, Leslie Marmon Silko, Edward Abbey, Alberto Rios, and others. The formats employed included reader's theatre, reading and discussion workshops, and essays. The grant ran from October of 1985 to September of 1987.
