ASU Foundation Bylaws and Correspondence, 1966-1972
Scope and Content Note
The Kathryn Gammage Papers house of the records of Gammage's professional work at ASU as well as personal papers, correspondence, photographs, and personal and professional awards and certificates. The bulk of the collection contains professional papers dating from 1964 to 1986. The collection has been arranged into five series.
Series I: Professional consists of Gammage's professional records, correspondence, and other documents showing her work at Arizona State University including service at the ASU Foundation, on the Board of Directors at KAET Channel 8, on the Governor's Commission on the Status of Women, and with the Friends of the Library. These materials date from 1955 to 1986 (bulk 1964-1986).
Series II: Personal Papers contains Gammage's personal papers and items showing her volunteer work with a variety of charitable organizations, including the Arizona Children's Hospital Advisory Committee and the American Women's Auxiliary. These materials date from 1944 to 1977.
Series III: Miscellaneous ASU houses a variety of materials showing Arizona State University created by both Kathryn and Grady Gammage. Among the subjects covered are the dedication of Gammage Auditorium, the Gammage Memorial Lecture Series, and speech notes and research compiled by Grady Gammage. These materials date from 1935 to 1973.
Series IV: Photographs consists of one box of photographs showing the Gammage family and Arizona State University. Of particular interest are color photographs of the groundbreaking for Gammage Auditorium. The bulk of the photographs in this series lack dates and verifiable descriptive information.
Series V: Artifacts includes three boxes of personal scrapbooks.

Box 4, Folder 1 contains records from the State Humanities Commission and Box 9, Folder 17 contains personal papers that may only be accessed with the permission of the University Archivist.
