Biographical Note

Paul Cook was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1950. He received his B.A. Degree in Philosophy from Northern Arizona University in 1972, his M.A. in English from Arizona State University in 1978, and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Utah.

Since the age of eleven, Paul Cook has been writing science fiction stories in one form or another. He began writing serious science fiction in 1968, publishing his first story in Northern Arizona University's creative writing journal, Pine Knots, in the spring of 1969. In 1978 he wrote his first novel, Tintagel.

Paul Cook also writes poetry and published his first poem in 1971. Since then he has published over 150 poems in journals such as The Seattle Review and the Georgia Review.

As the Writer-in-Residence at Arizona State University since June 1987, Paul Cook is currently living and teaching in Arizona where he has spent most of his life.
