Sub-Series A: Walter and Phyllis Leonard Ephemera
Scope and Content Note
Series I: Walter Leonard Papers (15 boxes) consists of correspondence, notes, drafts, manuscripts, and payment vouchers documenting Leonard's writing for trade publications in various fields. ) contain information on trade journal freelance articles by both Walt and Phyllis Leonard (Leonard Corp). Each file folder usually houses an original inquiry letter, correspondence as an assignment progresses, notes or tape transcriptions, and a copy of the published article. All articles discuss Arizona events, people, and businesses.
Series II: Phyllis Leonard Papers (14 boxes) contains notes, manuscripts, drafts, galley proofs, correspondence, and reviews of Leonard's freelance articles for both childrens' and adult periodicals as well as her southwestern
novels (1971-1983). Her novels include Prey of the Eagle, Phantom of the Sacred Well, Warrior's Woman, Street of the Madwoman, Tarnished Angel, and Mariposa.
