Manuscript Letters and Ephemera Collection
Content description
This is an artificial collection created by the former Special Collections Librarian. Included are photographs, invitations, galleys, autographs, negatives, handwritten and typed letters, and other ephemera created by or sent to literary and public figures, and artists. Some letters were originally tipped into books in the general library and SPEC stacks. They were removed by previous conservators and added to this collection. Some letters were originally part of the Uncatalogued Manuscript collection (UCM). They are currently housed in the following categories: Box 1 - 20th Century Literary Figures and Artists (A-N); Box 2 - 20th Century Literary Figures and Artists (O-Z) and 19th Century Authors (A-Z); Box 3 - Artists and Critics, Mostly 19th Century (A-W); Box 4 - Politicians and Soldiers, Mostly 19th Century; Box 5 - Letters Between William Michael Rossetti and William Bell Scott (1850-1881); Boxes 6 and 9 - Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood; Box 7 - George Moore (1890-1928); Box 8 - Identified by Molly as Needing More Research and Miscellaneous Negatives of Letters
