This collection houses 29 photographs depicting construction and general views of copper mining operations in Kimberly, Nevada, including the Emma Nevada Mine, the Alpha Shaft, and the Morris Shaft. A single view of a home in Washington, D.C. is also included.

Biographical Note

Eduard Johan Alicohen was born on June 10, 1907 in Nijmegen, Netherlands. He emigrated to the United States, where he adopted the surname Tenbrinck, in 1931. He settled in New York City and worked as a public accountant, in which capacity he apparently contracted with a number of mining firms operating in the western United States. Tenbrinck married Margaret Dorothy Schaffner (1911-1998) on November 4, 1933 and the couple had two daughters, Jean Dorothy (Tenbrinck) Daubenas (1940-) and Elizabeth (Tenbrinck) Dawsari (1944-). Eduard and Margaret Tenbrinck settled in Arizona in 1972, where Eduard Tenbrinck died on October 8, 1999.
