Biographical Note
Tom Webster Chauncey was born to Tom Webster and Kathryn (Geare) Chauncey in Phoenix, Arizona on May 30, 1947. He earned his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1970 and his J.D. from Arizona State University in 1973. Chauncey began his professional career with KOOL Radio and TV, where he served as executive vice president and counsel (1972-1982) and as general counsel and station manager (1982-1986). He went on to become a partner at Gust Rosenfeld PLC in Phoenix. Chauncey is also active in the community, having served with such organizations as the Barrow Neurological Foundation, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Friendly House, the Northwestern University Alumni Association of Phoenix, the First Amendment Coalition, the Cameras in the Courtroom Committee, the Arizona Supreme Court Task Force on Court Productivity, the National Conference for Community and Justice, the Foundation for Blind Children, Homeward Bound, and the Arizona Historical Society.
