Historical Note
The Arizona Council for the Social Studies is affiliated with the National Council for the Social Studies. It is dedicated to promoting and improving the teaching of the social sciences in Arizona's schools, encouraging cooperation among specialists and the schools, providing a network of communication and mutual support for those involved in social studies education at all levels, and serving as a support base for the social studies in Arizona. It is governed by a four-member Executive Committee and a Board of Directors composed of the members of the Executive Committee and twelve members who serve three-year terms.
