Biographical Note
Jack Louis August was born on January 7, 1954. He earned his B.A. from Yale University, his M.A. from the University of Arizona, and his Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico. During his career, August has served as the Executive Director of the Arizona Historical Foundation, taught for Northern Arizona University's Statewide Programs, worked as an historian and expert witness in the Natural Resources Section of the Arizona Attorney General's Office, and has appeared on numerous television and radio programs. August has published several books regarding the Southwest and water issues, including Vision in the Desert: Carl Hayden and Hydropolitics in the American Southwest, Dividing Western Waters: Mark Wilmer and Arizona v. California, and Senator Dennis DeConcini: From the Center of the Aisle.
