Scope and Content Note
The Roy F. Molen photographs are an archive of a commercial photographer operating in the metropolitan Phoenix area. These images consist primarily of photographs made for the real estate trade in the area. Many show homes, including interiors and exteriors, photographed for realtors Bud Melcher (MO 165-404), Ed Post (MO 423-625), and Tom Jackson and Associates (MO 126-130). Many of the photographs taken for Melcher were later used in Homes for Living Magazine (MO 236-322). The majority of the homes photographed were located in Phoenix; other locales represented include Clearwater Hills, Scottsdale, Mesa, and Tempe. If no place was noted, the photograph has been assumed to show Phoenix. Other photographs regarding the real estate industry include portraits of realtors (individually and in groups), awards banquets, and parties.
Also included in this collection are examples of Molen's commercial portrait photography, including wedding photographs and images of the Orpheus Choir.
