Historical Note
A group of parents and teachers founded the Arizona Association for the Gifted and Talented in 1974 in order to advocate on behalf of the state's gifted children and to support the development of gifted education programs. The organization disseminates information, supports parent groups, and offers a number of programs, including scholarships for gifted children, an annual conference for parents and educators, and an annual Saturday Parent Institute. It also supports a network of local affiliate chapters.
