Biographical Note

Randall Thomas Reid was born on October 31, 1960. He moved to Phoenix with his family as a child and attended Arizona State University, where he decided to concentrate on photography during his senior year. During the 1980s, he worked as a freelance photographer for the Phoenix Gazette. When the Gazette merged with the Arizona Republic, Reid accepted a permanent position. He won a number of awards for his photography during his career, including Arizona Photographer of the Year in 1993. Reid left the Republic in 2008 and died of sinus cancer on May 19, 2010.
