The Charles F. Gritzner Papers consist of administrative records documenting the Arizona Commission of Indian Affairs, correspondence, and personal diaries dating from 1954 to 1970. The bulk of the collection concerns Gritzner's work as Executive Secretary for the Commission from 1960 to 1970.

Biographical Note

Charles Frederick Gritzner was born to Silas Arthur and Jane (Carey) Gritzner in Michigan on January 14, 1908. He married Laura Elizabeth Chamberlain on August 14, 1933 and the couple had five children: Charles Frederick, Janalyce (Gritzner) Ham, Frederick V., Jeffrey, and Jerius. Gritzner owned Arizona Desert Adventures prior to his death on August 8, 1995.
