Scrapbook on Peoria, Arizona, 1936-1949

The Gertrude A. Robinson Collection consists of correspondence and two scrapbooks documenting the activities of social and service clubs in the Phoenix area from 1921 to 1949.

The correspondence consists of four letters from Thomas Campbell, then Governor of Arizona. In Campbell's letter of May 5, 1921 he offers Robinson an appointment to the newly formed Arizona Commission on Illiteracy. Other letters include a request for information on women in Arizona, Campbell's address at a convention in Glendale, and a request for help in the campaign in Arizona during Better Homes Week. Inscribed on the back of Campbell's letter of September 30, 1922 is Robinson's draft reply.

The scrapbook documenting Arizona women's clubs includes newspaper clippings and correspondence about Arizona clubs and their activities. A list of various clubs in the Central District of Arizona and their presidents is included. The scrapbook on Peoria, Arizona houses a collection of newspaper clippings documenting events in that city from 1936 to 1949. Included is a published biography of Gertrude's husband, C. A. Robinson, numerous clippings about the history of the town, and materials showing sports events in the area.
