Scope and Content Notes
This collection consists of letters written by John D. Mitchell to Charles F. Willis of The Mining Journal and articles written by Mitchell that were published in the journals Mining World, The Mining Journal, and Pay Dirt. These were later published as a book titled Lost Mines and Buried Treasures Along the Old Frontier in 1953. The original manuscripts for many of the works are included in the collection. The collection also includes original, hand drawn cartoons that were featured with the articles.
