The Gerald A. Doyle Papers house a variety of materials documenting Doyle's work restoring and renovating historic structures around Arizona and in the Salt River Valley. All series are arranged in chronological order with the exception of Series V: Photographs, Negatives, and Slides; Series VI: Oversize; and Series VII: Blueprints, which have been arranged alphabetically due to large amounts of undated material.

Series I: Professional Jobs houses contracts, project manuals, test results, change orders, sub-contractor correspondence, and engineering manuals documenting Doyle's professional work. Also present are numerous hand-drawn sketches and handwritten plans and notes, including numerous Post-It notes.

Series II: Gerald A. Doyle and Associates (GADA) Office Files houses correspondence, office awards, lists of jobs, Christmas card samples, and brief vitae for Gerald Doyle.

Series III: Research houses research materials that Doyle compiled for his various projects. Sub-Series A: Yuma Quartermaster Depot Restoration includes photocopies of newspaper and periodical articles and sketches of the Depot at various times. Sub-Series B: General contains photocopies of newspaper and periodical articles and photocopies of book chapters.

Series IV: Miscellaneous houses maps, newspaper and magazine articles, historical brochures, and galley magazine proofs.

Series V: Photographs, Negatives, and Slides documents various of Doyle's projects. It is arranged in alphabetical order.

Series VI: Oversized Materials includes enlarged photographs and enlarged renderings documenting various of Doyle's projects.

Series VII: Blueprints consists of original blueprints that Doyle used in his work. It is arranged by Box Number, Job Number, and the name that the architects assigned to the blueprint. This series is housed off-site and is available only by appointment.

Blueprints from Series VII are stored at the Arizona State University Libraries off-site storage facility to ensure their preservation under strict climate controlled conditions. Access to items from this series are available by appointment only.

To view this collection, make an appointment at least five business days prior to your visit by contacting Ask an Archivist or calling (480) 965-4932. Appointments in the Wurzburger Reading Room at Hayden Library (rm. 138) on the Tempe campus are available Monday through Friday. Check the ASU Library Hours page for current availability.
