This collection contains material documenting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) history in Arizona from 1966 to 2015. Please be aware that this collection contains nudity. Series I: Valley of the Sun Gay and Lesbian Center Records (Boxes 1-11) includes administrative files and information about programs and services offered at the Center. Series II: Subject Files (Boxes 11-39) contains files created by the Community Center about different local and national subjects and organizations. Series III: Photographs (Boxes 40-74) provides a glimpse into the LGBT bar scene, organizations, and political events. The photographs are organized by date. Some people, events, and organizations were identified on original photograph envelopes. Series IV: Periodicals (Boxes 75-140) contains newspapers and magazines written by the LGBT community. The periodicals were organized by place of publication. Series V: Artifacts (Boxes 141-151) includes floppy disks, audio-visual materials, awards and plaques, posters, a photo album, ribbons, shirts, and collages.
