Radio Programs Regarding Outside Arizona, Undated

The Lou Ella Archer Papers are composed of drafts and published versions of literary works, scripts for radio programs, correspondence, news clippings and printed matter. Although the materials date from 1926 to 1968, the majority of the papers concern Archer's writing activities from 1929 to 1946.

The materials gathered in the Literary Works category include a typescript draft of Sonnets of the Southwest with copies of the illustrations from the published version, typescripts of a number of writings for the stage, miscellaneous poems and essays and book reviews for Arizona Woman. The Printed Matter in this section is comprised of published editions of Sonnets to the Southwest, Canyon Shadows and Arms of Thought. The Radio Programs in this collection are typescript essays on various subjects that were apparently adapted for broadcast.

The Correspondence within the Archer Papers includes letters from William C. Faltin, a prisoner at the Florence State Penitentiary, items from various potential and actual publishers and correspondence concerning Archer's radio programs. The Bulletins to Servicemen are typescript letters regarding Archer's travels that were apparently published in some form. News clippings are mostly comprised of Archer's poems and the Miscellaneous Papers contain printed items and miscellaneous documents that contain some biographical information.
