The Concerned Citizens Against Rio Salado Records contain materials both for and against the Rio Salado Project. The collection ranges from 1976 to 1987, with the bulk of the records covering the period between 1983 and 1987.
James W. Elmore Papers
This collection houses correspondence, research materials, flyers, promotional materials, plans, clippings, newsletters, reel-to-reel audio tapes, and other items documenting James W. Elmore's work as an architect and urban planner. Among the subjects covered are Elmore's proposal for an aerial light rail system in the Salt River Valley, city planning in Phoenix from the 1950s to the 2000s, the development of the Rio Salado Project, and Arizona State University's College of Architecture.
Howard Pyle Collection
The Howard Pyle Collection contains correspondence, memoranda, minutes, diaries, scrapbooks, notebooks, printed matter, and artifacts. Although the collection dates from 1883 to 1987, the bulk of the material is derived from Pyle's political, professional, and personal activities from 1935 to 1987. The collection has been divided into two series.
